Sunset on Ice

Only in London would you find a public park that is bounded by three palaces.

Buckingham Palace, St James’s Palace and Westminster (now the Houses of Parliament) provided a regal backdop to my sunset walk around the lake created by John Nash in St. James’s Park.

The recent cold snap has frozen some of the water. The ice is not thick enough to walk on but the lake did freeze over in 1947 and you can see some wonderful footage of people skating on it here http://www.britishpathe.com/video/skating-in-st-james-park
