Old Medicine

There are many relics of science in the Museum of the History of Science, including medicines from the past. The pocket medicine case c 1860 above contains phials of ‘morphia’, ‘aconitia’ and ‘curara’. The Homeopathic Medicine Case below is even older (c1820) and contains a type of medicine that was watered down to help the body fight illnesses more naturally. The museum is in the Old Ashmolean on Broad Street, Oxford.
