If you are ever wandering through the backstreets near Marylebone station, then I would recommend stopping at the Swan & Edgar. It can be a bit hard to find but look out for the shelf of books above the door. Inside you can order a drink at a bar constructed of pre-loved books and sit at a table lit by candle in a teacup. Old pages of The Financial Times cover the seats and the expression ‘a night on the tiles’ takes on a new meaning when you see the toilet floors covered with hundreds of Scrabble tiles. It is a friendly local and the food is quite good too.
