Tropical Water Lily

Victoria cruziana  in the tropical water lily pond at the Oxford University Botanic Garden. The pond dates from 1851 and was built to grow the giant amazon water lily Victoria amazonica. This is the slightly smaller species but an individual leaf can still reach more than a meter in diameter.
